If you are concerned about radiation exposure, talk to your dentist about how often and radiographs are required to be taken under certain conditions. While some people need more frequent radiographs, dental radiographs predict that current recommendations to be made only when necessary for clinical diagnosis.
What problems can be discovered after a dental radiograph?
In adults
- Careers that may not be visible at a regular examination , especially in small areas between teeth;
- As a filling cavities;
- Bone loss that accompanies gum disease;
- Changes in bone or channel resulting from an infection;
- In preparation of dental implants, dentures or other dental procedures;
- Abscess (infection from the root of a tooth or a tooth and gum);
- Other developmental abnormalities such as cysts and some types of tumors.
In children
- Decay;
- If there is enough space for all the teeth in the mouth that will increase;
- If baby teeth are lost quickly enough to allow the permanent teeth to erupt properly;
- Developing third molars.
